No. They are overpriced and not cost-effective, even given current oil prices. Hybrids are not really good - too complex and ok if buying new but a total nightmare for used car buyers. Electrics are too new - the battery packs are a big issue - how long are they going to last ? The lithium batteries can only do a limited number of charge cycles and then they have to be renewed. I am going to keep buying small, economical, conventional cars for the next 5 or six years and let other people be the guinea pigs on this one.

Wireless router/modem question...?

Here in my house we have 4 devices that connect with our wireless router. 2 computers, a phone, and an xbox360. I'm on a laptop in the back of the house, about 40 feet from the wireless router, which is right next to the modem. The modem is directly connected to our other desktop computer. When someone gets on the desktop computer and downloads something, anything, my internet connection from the wireless router goes to 0. I have a hard time understanding this because I had also just recently purchased a wireless router extender, so my computer says it has full signal, yet I can't do anything. I don't know much about how all of this stuff works, but I thought the extender would boost the signal and keep this from happening. Is there a way to stop my signal loss? It's really getting old... especially since it's my brother doing it and he usually does it when I'm having to do research for class. Any help is appreciated!

Went off birth control, am I pregnant?

I have been on the birth control pill Ocella (generic of Yazmin) for four years. On May 4th (Wednesday) I went off my "active" pills and started my placebo pills in that month's pack. I had intercourse on either Wednesday or Thursday (I'm not 100% sure which day) and we did not use a condom because with Ocella you are still supposed to be "protected" while on the placebo pills. I got my period the following Monday and had planned on going back on my active pill that Wednesday. However the drug company forgot to mail my new packs. By the time I called my doctor it was too late for me to start a new pack and they told me to wait until my next period. My next period never came, but I have been having some normal menstrual symptoms like back pain, cramps, and bloating (however they haven't been as severe or constant). In addition my nipples have been slightly sore which isn't a normal symptom for me. I have read online many, many instances in which women went off their active pills and didn't get their periods for months and still had symptoms like mine (including new symptoms), but they weren't pregnant. I guess I'm asking if it's more likely for me to be pregnant (even though I've had a period after last having sex) or not after looking at of my symptoms. Please only serious answers, thank you all so much!

You should not skip ahead to your placebos--just continue through the pack and you'll get your period when you get your period. There is nothing wrong with skipping your placebos but it will take awhile for you to get back on a normal period schedule. A few years ago my GYN told me I could just take the placebos every 3 packs so I could get fewer periods. I was doing this for about a year and a half and my cycle never changed; I continued to get my period almost monthly and my GYN said sometimes it just doesn't work for certain women. It took me a few months to get back on a normal cycle but it eventually did. Your body is just confused; just continue through the pack and in a few months you'll be on a normal cycle again.

I am currently on the pill (yaz) and have been for quite some time. I had a uti and was on macrobid for it. My boyfriend and i had unprotected sex not long after i had started taking the antibiotic. Also, the drugs available to treat such "biological" depression (though I don't think it can be considered depression if it is biological or medical) is woefully impotent. We have the FDA not approving any drugs that actually are shown to relieve "depression"- especially in the 40-50% of of depressive patients that get no relief from the current "placebo" antidepressants-because they act to quickly and thus are deemed "addicting". The only thing the FDA will improve, and the pharmaceutical companies will pursue, are long acting drugs, that really have no effect except for the placebo effect. As someone that fits somewhere in these categories, I can attest I have never felt any benefit from every category of antidepressant when on it for weeks! Nothing. I can not believe that these drugs are even approved. The pharmaceutical companies, research bio-psychiatrists and all scientists involved in mental health have no concrete clue as to how the current so called antidepressants work (which I believe they don't), because they have not been able to measure quantified regions of the brain consistent with depression and subsequent improvement as related to these medications. Psychiatrists are a joke for people with a biological problem causing the depression or total body and brain loss of certain characteristics. The current research on antidepressants, is all by accident, coincidental. A certain drug designed for something else, happens to cause a lift in mood for a small subset of patients. Therefore it must be an antidepressant!....The serotonin theory pushed by some, has no basis at all, with regard to antidepressants. To prove this, they are several drugs approved to treat depression that actually reduce serotonin! Personally, I'd rather take the chances of living as a so called addicted person, with feelings, emotions, and contribution to society than suffer decades due to our government rulings and propaganda by psychiatrists and pharmaceutical companies.

Hi there, you have probably caught a cold because you are stressed. Try wearing vests and other layers under your uniform. Air conditioning is horrible isn't it, but most workplaces will have it so do try to overcome it. I can understand as I feel the cold really easily and it is really hard to concentrate on anything else. It is really warm today but I still have a vest on under my short sleeved blouse! A nice scarf around the neck can help if you are allowed to wear one and tights are a god send for me. After you have put on your layers, try not to focus on the cold and concentrate on your work and see if you feel better. If after a couple of weeks you still feel uncomfortable, talk to your supervisor again. Good luck!

Now that I can access the IP address of my router I need to used the info to go into the router to change its setting. Why is the internet in my room so bad?

For some odd reason, the second I walk into my room, the internet becomes very slow almost to the point where it is unusable. Just an option for you but rather than adding a "repeater" add a full access point. You simply add an "N" access point to the existing router and you have "N" coverage as well as the ability to place the "new" wifi point anywhere in the house. You are probably just spotting. Birth control pills are regulating your hormones so there will always be some kind of spotting in between cycles. As far as I know as long as you don't skip pills 3 days consecutively, you should be ok and although you should take them at the same time everyday, missing a day or 2 should be ok. It could also be some old blood from your period 2 weeks ago which hasn't all finished completely. It could also be from rough sex. The placebo pills are there so you don't forget by stopping for 7 days like some other pills like Diane 35. There shouldn't be a problem to continuing with another pack too as the 7 day break and a period is not necessary, apparently the breakthrough bleeding on the pill is more for psychological reason than physical because most women want to "experience" a period every month. Spotting is normal on birth control pills as long as they are not heavy bleeding. However, if you have regular periods on the pill and you don't get your period when you should, take a pregnancy test because the pills are not a 100% protection. Also, I'd advice you to use a condom too even on the pill, this is what I learned through my volunteer work experience wt HIV education. Good luck

I was wondering if it was possible to hook up a second router on the same land as the first. I live in a trailer on my parents land and it's outside the range of the first wireless router so I've been trying to search around for something to do. I rip my DVD movies to my computer and then stream them to my TV's using media extenders. I've always done them in AVI format but am not sure that is getting me the best quality. I use Magic DVD Ripper and their tech support told me to try the MPEG-2 format. I did and while the picture quality it better there was no sound. Not sure what happened there. But anyway, what format would you recommend to try to get the closest DVD quality when streaming?

Logitech x-530 speakers not working!?

I recently bought a set of the Logitech X-530 5.1 speakers, and they worked perfectly fine until I tried using an extender for the front right speaker. The front right speaker is the one that receives the input from a device, and then connects to the woofer via a VGA cable which transmits audio to the other speakers. But ever since I tried using a VGA extender I bought from eBay which ended up not working, I plugged the speaker back without the extender and they don't work at all! The light on the front right speaker comes on, and when I plug headphones into it, sound does come through the headphones! So why not the speakers! ahhhh I'm really annoyed :(

About a month ago I took my birth control less than four hours late, although I almost always take it within the same hour time frame. Later that night we used a condom, but when he pulled out it was broken. From what I've heard the pill will protect you from precum. There is a chance he could have not pulled out on time of course.
