What is the difference between like and love?

Well, I like my teacher, his way of thinking, his sense of humour and even his way of treating his students. Now I feel afraid that this like is in reality a kind of love coz I've been even disturbed when talking to him or asking for his opinion about sthg. He is kinda kind with all his students but he is married and he knows how to keep distance with feminine students not to be in trouble. plz help me to keep this respectful relationship with him without falling in the muddle of love.
