Period came early on birth control? still on the active pills.?

So I started taking Loestrin fe about two weeks ago, and everything was fine til a few days ago when I got my period, Its not spotting either, its full on and the cramps feel worse than normal even, my periods were always regular before bc (I take it mostly for acne) and not only is it a week and a half early than normal but I still have a whole week of active pills left before the placebos! Is this normal since I just started taking this kind of bc? or do I like just skip to the placebo pills now?
