Period and pregnancy and birth control question?

I had sex almost 3 weeks ago and I had been missing pills so I was on 2 a day for a little while then took them on time for a week just 1 at a time. This weekend I missed one and had to take 2 at one point and just got back to one today. I'm supposed to start my period tomorrow and I have a little red in my underwear and a little when I wipe. Everything has been normal, I'm even cramping a little bit as usual. I've also skipped My period the past month and I know usually when I do that I spot a little bit. Should I be completely freaked out or just calm myself? My body felt weird before my period like it always does and now it feels normal. I sleep fine, I'm not tired, no excessive trips to the bathroom. Help please. It's ok that I'm spotting a little red the day before my placebo pills right?
